I am always touched by the wealth of healing energy in flowers - our beautiful friends which bless us and yet often remain unnoticed! There are many Flower essences around which provide deep emotional healing...sometimes this is the missing link which then allows the physical healing to fully blossom. If you are new to flower essences, the Bach Flower essences are a good place to start and much is written about them.
I would like to share three Bach flower essences with you. I have taken all of these myself and found them transformational.
GORSE brings the gift of radiant positivity. Nicknamed, "Sunshine in a bottle," it is nature's antidote to depression. The flowers are pockets of brilliant yellow and the gorse bush in flower literally lights up the land - just as the sun lights up our lives! The Gorse bush follows it's own rhythms and flowers simply when it feels to. It has no set timing but it graces the landscape with its cheery light when it flowers. When taking this remedy, you can expect the sun to come out in your solar plexus chakra. Joy will start springing up like fresh new shoots of spring, bubbles of optimism will pop to the surface for no reason at all!
MIMULUS is one of my old favourites. It brings the gift of innocent trust and is a great antidote to anxiety. It is a small yellow flower that bursts into bloom in the most insecure places! The edge of banks and rocks and yet it has no fear for its safety. It trusts the process of life, it knows that it is loved completely by existence and will be taken care of. So it shines it's yellow light with ease and trust and helps you do the same! Our kidneys and adrenal glands can be under pressure when we are very anxious so Mimulus helps the physical body here too.
RED CHESTNUT is the flower that helps us when we are worrying incessantly about loved ones. Putting the other before self can create exhaustion. When we are exhausted we are not able to help others. The red chestnut tree has extraordinary strength. This remedy helps you fall back into that inner strength like leaning on the giant tree trunk itself. It helps you to fall back inside and reconnect with your core wisdom. It takes the edge of that anxiety which, ironically, doesn't help your loved ones anyway! They don't need your fear. They are helped more by you connecting with your inner strength and core wisdom. This will resonate and remind them of their own vast inner resources.
Animals and children respond especially strongly to treatment with flower essences. For optimal results, you need to take the essence continually. So put 6 - 8 drops in a bottle of water and sip throughout the day, or put into a cup of hot water or herbal tea and sip throughout the day. You can top the drink up as much as you like. Sometimes you may need an essence for 2- 3 days. Sometimes you need it for 3 weeks or a few months. You can dowse to see if you still need it...or just use your intuition.
I am filled with awe and gratitude at the healing potential of flowers - enjoy and receive the beauty of these helping friends. With love, Sudhi

GYPSY VIOLIN & MOZART ARIAS
We had quite a roller coaster ride for the Lunchtime Concert in Axminster.
Two days before Susanne and I were going to perform, Susanne came down with a bad chest infection. I got the call early in the morning and all day we were calling other musicians and trying to come up with other pieces to fill the programme as she couldn't sing. I picked a brand new gypsy violin piece to learn, I called my Harpist friend who wasn't free and then Susanne found a Clarinet player to perform. Phew! All was sorted...but no, half an hour later another call. The pianist didn't like the clarinet player...no charisma apparently. Finally, Susanne had a glass of wine and found she could just about sing...
So Thursday came and Susanne rose to the occasion and I played some extra gypsy music. An enchanting concert came together. We sang and staged the letter duet from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro. Susanne sang songs by Barber and Violon by Poulenc and I played two pieces of Gypsy violin music.
I felt so connected to these Eastern European gypsy tunes - I felt the passion, the richness and the angst of gypsy life. I remembered that many years ago, I was told I have a Romany Gypsy guide who loves it when I play the violin and I really felt him with me.
Lovely friends came and we all went off to lunch afterwards - high on good food, wonderful music and joyous friendship!
